Let your first thought be to strengthen your natural vitality.

My practice combines the ancient wisdom of Avicenna’s medicine and traditional Persian manual therapy with modern evidence-informed chiropractic care and bodywork.

I am Dr Kashi Azad, DC. My journey began in Shiraz, Iran but I grew up in Sweden where I graduated with a Bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering. In the pursuit of higher education and a better lifestyle I came to Sydney in 2001 and graduated with a Masters in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in 2004. Soon after I started my first technology business while pursuing my real passion for health on the side.

Having been a competitive martial artist, boxing and fitness coach since my teenage years I became Australia’s first Persian Yoga (Pahlavani) teacher certified at the Iranian National Olympic Academy in 2007. This only deepened my passion for health, the miraculous human body and for helping others living stronger and more pain-free lives.

To effectively and efficiently convey my passion for health and wellness and the ancient wisdom of Persian Yoga I pursued a modern scientific and evidence-based health education at Macquarie University. I graduated and received my Chiropractic degree in 2020. I now use my chiropractic treatment skills and knowledge to enrich the health and wellness of others, helping them to increase their quality of life and to manifest their higher, stronger, selves.

I have a special interest in, and experience with, treating neck, shoulder and back pain and in Avicenna’s Unani Medicine.

My life philosophy is Facti sunt übermensch- Becoming the übermensch (Zarathustra’s overman).

Restrictions and energy blocks, also referred to as fixations, Chiropractic subluxations or Osteopathic lesions, can occur in the joints, muscles and connective tissues (tendons, ligaments and fascia). As a result of trauma, the body’s response to physical activity and asymmetrical loading, overuse due to repetitive often habitual strain and stress as well as bio-mechanical compensations to altered kinesiology and chemical (humoral) imbalances. This often leads to pain and discomfort.

To reduce and eliminate pain and “dis-ease” often all, and sometimes only a few of these structures need to be treated. The motor program is corrected to attain posture correction and the humors re-balanced to reduce inflammation and stagnation, to increase the circulation of the vital energy flow to restore optimal function, and for pain-free peak performance.

I use time-tested traditional as well as modern evidence-informed chiropractic treatment modalities and movement and rehabilitation therapies to treat my patients. As a whole, chiropractic treatment is a personalised quality care approach aimed at empowering my patients to care for themselves in the long run and live strong and pain-free lives.

What others have to say

Ancient wisdom and modern evidence-informed applied therapies.

Chiropractic care focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. It is most often used to treat common musculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to chronic back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, and pain in the joints of the arms or legs.

I use various chiropractic techniques and adjunctive modalities such as Diversified and Gonstead technique, dry needling, remedial trigger point therapy and instrument assisted soft tissue therapy.

Traditional Persian massage therapy (Moshtomal) combines acupressure, fascial stretching, energy work, and passive yoga. Similar to other Eastern treatment methods, traditional Moshtomal has the whole person in view and addresses the musculoskeletal restrictions and energy blocks that lead to pain.

The massage is like a ritual and puts you in an invigorated state of rejuvenation. Moshtomal is a time-tested applied massage therapy used by Avicenna, the father of modern medicine, and is generally suitable for everyone.

Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This helps relieve muscle tension, increase and improve overall blood flow and circulation, to promote cell repair. Cupping can also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue. This can strengthen the body’s resistance, restore balance between positive and negative forces and remove stagnated disease-causing factors from the circulation.

Cupping is another applied therapy used by the prince of physicians, Avicenna, and is generally safe and suitable for everyone.

Needling is an amalgamation of traditional Chinese medicine and western medical system. Needles are inserted into muscle trigger points to deliver a powerful stimulus to the nervous system that regulates the flow of circulation and energy in the muscle. This helps release the taut band fibres in the affected muscle and can sometimes lead to a local twitch response which is thought to be a break in the trigger point neuromuscular abnormal cycle.

Persian Yoga (Pahlavani) is the world’s oldest living martial arts strength conditioning system. It is an integrative, comprehensive, holistic and dynamic approach to movement rehabilitation, skills development, and general physical preparedness. The practice of Persian Yoga develops great core and grip strength, skilled movement and mobility, and is a sustainable strength practice easily adopted by most people. It evolves with you throughout your life’s seasons. But perhaps, more importantly, this powerful practice is used to heal, rehabilitate, and help keep athletes strong, nimble, pain-free and protected from injuries.

These time-tested and battlefield proven arts have been used by ancient warriors and knights in ancient times and by modern elite athletes to complement their training. Combined with chiropractic care and Avicenna’s approach to health and healing it is a powerful tool to restore and maintain peak performance, vitality, health, and ultimately, an optimised quality of life.
